I was hoping that someone else would respond since I have little experience treating anorexia. Since no one else has responded, here are a few suggestions: Here are a few Web sites that look useful - http://www.umm.edu/patiented/articles/what_specific_treatments_patients_with_anorexia_000049_10.htm http://www.cpa-apc.org/Publications/Archives/CJP/2002/april/inReviewAnorexiaNervosa.asp http://www.aboutourkids.org/articles/halmi.html A good chapter on CBT with eating disorders is: Wilson, G. T. & Pike, K. M. (2001). Eating disorders. In Barlow, David H. (Ed). Clinical handbook of psychological disorders: A step-by-step treatment manual (3rd ed.). (pp. 332-375). New York, NY, US: Guilford Press (2001) ABSTRACT - This chapter focuses on the cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) of patients with bulimia nervosa (BN), the most intensively researched of all the eating disorders. The therapeutic strategies described are also relevant to the other eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa (AN). However, there have been few controlled treatment studies of CBT for AN. The lack of treatment research on AN is due in large part to the difficulty of recruiting sufficient patients, given the low incidence of the disorder. The chapter also notes that CBT, adapted from its use with BN, has been more widely applied to the treatment of binge-eating disorder, where it has proven highly effective.
