Have you tried asking what purpose the voice serves (in it's own mind, so to speak)? Ego state therapy would see the voice (esp as it is id'd by pt as within her space) as a part of self. Logically, of course, the voice IS a part of self, whether ego state or not... it indicates some sort of internal conflict.
