Have you been trying to think of a project for your dissertation or thesis which would be interesting, which would break new ground, which would make a useful contribution, and which is practical? What would you think of testing and validating the measure I mentioned in the preceeding post? A practical measure of the fidelity with which therapists are practicing CT would be valuable both in outcome studies and in efforts to increase the use of evidence-based treatments in real-world settings. There's even a decent chance of getting NIMH funding to support the research if you want to write a grant. For better or worse, I'm pretty much tied up with practice, teaching, and writing. As a result, I won't have time to validate my scale for at least a year or two. If anyone wants to take on this project, I'll be happy to collaborate with you or to have you take the project and do it completely on your own. I have some pilot data available which I'm willing to share and I have some ideas about practical ways to get the data you'd need. If you're interested, contact me at jpretzer@apk.net
