Integrating CBT and AA in the Treatment of Substance Abuse
    Jim Pretzer · 03/26/02 at 11:16 ET

Is it a good idea to combine CBT and 12-step programs when treating individuals who are engaged in substance abuse? One approach (which isn't specific to CBT) is presented in the following article, which is available online:

Freimuth, M. (1995). Integrating Psychotherapy and 12-Step Programs. The Addictions Newsletter, Vol 3, no. 2, Autumn, 1995. The American Psychological Association, Division 50, http://www.kumc.edu/addictions_newsletter/vers2.pdf
