My opinion is that inelegant solutions are often as effective as elegant ones. I don't do REBT 100% by the book but I try to at least think that way most of the time. Actually, what you describe is changing a B not an A, as you are describing changing what she thinks about the physiological feeling by challenging the (possible) faulty inference that it's the urge to pee; and reconceptualizing it as a red flag to start doing her cognitive work.
