    I'm sorry, but these people really weren't your friends. You don't truly know who they are (even though I'm sure you think you do).

    Your mistake was in expecting these people to behave as if a real family or group of friends might. They cannot behave that way because they are not your family; they are not your friends.

    Do not expect so much.

    Try to get out of the house more -- meet some real people who can offer real support and guidance. Or turn back to your actual family.

    Good luck and I hope your husband improves.
