    Re:the nature of the unconscious

    I'm sure we do have "sensory traces" of events which occurred before about our normal memory existed - sounds, smells, feelings but these are not reliably accessible through psychotherapy. The sense of "I" is not fully formed
    so I think there is no personal association with the memory so no negative or positive effects as such. This just a personal opinion, I am not aware of the research in this area. Is anyone?
