I am in my 3rd year of a psychology degree at the University of Calgary. I would like to attend graduate school and study clinical-developmental psychology. I have worked with a non-profit organization (salvation army start program) with disabled children, and am currently doing volunteer work at the Alberta Mental Health Board. My marks are not really "top of the class" but I do alright (I had a 3.5 GPA last year). My question is essentially to do with how much weight would be placed on my "book smarts" (grades) as opposed to my actual experience in very relevant fields (my work with the start program and mental health board)? Anyones opinions/experiences are welcome. This discussion forum was a really nice discovery for me!
