"it goes to show that attractiveness theories arent totally correct when they say we are drawn by someones apearance!" Or perhaps it shows that we are capable of re-creating the proper conditions for attraction (and so on) through fantasy, even though they originally were biological signals. Cognitive theories can be built onto biological ones, they aren't neccessarily always competitive alternatives to explaining the same things. Think of the significant minority of women that have been found to be capable of giving themselves very real orgasms through fantasy alone, while many others struggle even with willing attractive partners and direct physical stimulation to feel ... their toes curl. The role played by expectancy and even fantasy in human behavior is something to be reckoned with in virtually every situation, profoundly so in social interaction. kind regards, Todd
