Do you think Conduct disorder and ODD and ADHD are necessarily neurologically induced? The reason I wonder is because I have seen kids with these diagnoses (teens included) demonstrate in certain circumstances that they are perfectly capable of controlling their impulses. I am wondering if it is more a matter of a child's belief system than anything that went wrong in the womb. I am also doing my internship in counseling and I have seen at least one ODD kid whose mother managed to rein in his behavior within a six week period. I do have to agree with you on the nutrition thing. I think if you look into it, you will find alot of these kids are routinely fed fast food, or other low-nutrition snacks. I do think poor nutrition is responsible for some erratic behavior. Think about it, when you go on a fast food jag, you start to feel less than optimal. It makes it hard to concentrate or even to stay in a good mood. I think anything less than three fully balanced meals a day puts some kids at risk for behavior problems.
