Hi! I am also an undergrad psych student interested in creative art therapies. I am currently enrolled in a class entitled "Art as Therapy" I am doing an oral presentation and was planning to do play therapy, but my professor said that isn't necessarily art, while I say that if the children are acting out their problems through play that it is also a type of art. What do you think? I might try to vary my topic slightly and focus on all types of creative art therpies. can you recommend a book that might be good to compare and contrast the various techniques? I have recently picked up a couple books on dance therapy, poetry therapy, and 101 favorite play therapy techniques. thank you.
