It may be helpful for you to know that a Masters in a related art field (or a related social service field) may be applicable toward a "certificate" in art therapy. Several graduate art therapy programs will grant such a certificate, and to earn it one need take only half the credit hours required for a masters in art therapy. This type of certificate is accepted by the American Art Therapy Association (or at least it was several years ago)
and allows the individual to apply to become a Registered Art Therapist. Again I would refer you to that organization for the most current info.
