I am a musician and dancer. I have lived my life performing and teaching. A year ago, I decided to move into creative arts therapy, for various reasons. I have a Masters degree in education and am currently at Seton Hall University, getting a masters degree in counseling.
My question is this.... I want to integrate the arts and therapy. I am unsure of where to go after getting my degree in counseling that will prepare me for this. I want to work with children, and their families and desire to eventually be in private practice. Also, I want to open a place where children can learn music and dance and use these lessons as lessons for life. I am still formulating this idea.
Any ides? Any creative arts therapists out there who could share with me their journey....where they went to school, what they studied, advice, etc.
