Art Therapy Training

Dear Judyanne,

Becoming an art therapist is like other professional training; it is necessary to have masters-level clinical training to become an art therapist.

Art therapy is not something that can be taught adequately through correspondence courses. I am not sure if there is professional art therapy training in New Zealand, but I believe there is in Australia, and you could contact the Australian Art Therapy Association for more local information. I believe their information is posted here in this forum.
