    Hello, Perry,

    Check out the article Don mentioned in his post of 3/2/98. It is great. Once we begin to understand innate affect and script, some of the disorders we work with get easier to conceptualize and treat. Borderline PD and Narcissistic PD definitely seem to be shame-based disorders. All of the PDs can be seen in terms of various scripts.

    There is much more to be done in terms of our understanding of these issues. Getting specific about affect would certainly seem to make the classifications more precise for many disorders. Welcome aboard!
