Your response is most encouraging to me, and more than an opportunity for eating a bit of humble pie. That is, most social workers I've met over the years have caused me to withdraw my ideas... rather than share them. I'm glad to see a kindred spirit out there. I believe your observation regarding the "reason" for the death of Spirituality (and Consciousness as well) being dropped from Psychology is correct. I believe there are a couple other important contributors as well to what amounts to an essentially Left-brain direction to mental health over many decades now. I tend to make a distinction (for myself) between religion, which seems mostly intellectual, and Spirituality, which I believe is entirely internally experienced (intuition, empathy, psychic awareness, etc.).
