    Dr. Shapiro,
As I read your message, I could almost see with a little better understanding what she( my wife) is going through in her EMDR therapy for depression. As her spouse, I feel like I am getting little or no communication from her relating to her progress. Is this normal? This brings me to the next question. Since my wife has been going through therapy for a year and EMDR for a few months, what happens to a marital relationship? I mean how is the partner effected?
Is there ever a need for the therapist to bring a spouse in to the office to explain how things work, or to explain what new behaviors he/she may be experiencing?

If you already answered this question go ahead and ignore this one.

    Thanks so much,
    Steve George
