EMDR therapy for abused children now adults
    · 5/14/99 at 12:54 am ET

We have recently found out my mother was sexually abused by her brothers and we are now beginning to understand the life-long effects this has had. My parents are still together after 35 + years, but they have only really had a frienship relationship. They are now talking of splitting up if my mother cannot "get better". We are currently seeing a therapist who is trained in EMDR, how long does the process usually take. I've read it is effective and efficient. What can we expect as family and how can we help.
