re: lurking

My thanks to Lurker1, LadyWolf, and Timberwolf (I think we have a theme going here!) for their posts. I'd like to make this forum a place where people feel comfortable to express their ideas. I will do my best to tame, and if necessary, eliminate from posting, people who are unnecessarily hostile. I'll also do my best to avoid using $10 words! It's hard to tell who the people are that are reading these posts - so I try to strike a balance between speaking to academics/researchers and to other folks who aren't as interested in the details of theories and research. If you fall into the latter category, please don't be put off by the big words. Sometimes we academics use them when we don't know what else to say! ; )
