HA! Now I disagree... In my opinion contacts on the Net are (at least sometimes) very intense. I know some people very well and I haven't seen them in real. Moreover, some people tell me that knowing that we won't probably meet f2f gives them opportunity to be much more open. I am still amazed by this fact. The time condenses and after exchanging just a dozen of e-mails I know so many facts about the person I am communicating with. I think that this is probably caused by lack of.. hmm... let's call it "social inhibition" (remember, I am a layman in this field, so probably a psychologist would just laugh at this term). I mean - in real life there are usually certain small talks you have to have before going deeper - into the other person's mind or soul. Here, in cyberspace we just get rid of this ballast, and this makes the situation less complicated.
