An interesting topic for your work, Adam. I'm not aware of any research on this issue, altho it may be out there. I do, however, come across anecdotal evidence all the time. Whenever I speak to people about their online relationships, they almost always tell stories about non-onliner friends and family who are skeptical about the authenticity of those relationships... and who think that the relationships are somehow deceptive or even dangerous. Some non-onliners seem to be biased in the direction of thinking that cyberspace in general is a dangerous place, or that it's addictive and destructive to one's psychological health.
