Has anybody on the list conducted or knows of studies concerning Internet perceptions, views, feelings, etc. of either the general population or specifically those, who do not use the technology themselves? I do Ph.D. research on a large international social/religious movement. I am about to conduct a questionnaire about psychological aspects of Internet use. Some of the questions I want to ask include: What they know about Internet? Inspiration for some of the items was taken from GVU's WWW User Surveys: I'd be most grateful for any comments, suggestions or references (especially with URLs...) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Most of the members however are not 'netizens'. I will modify the survey for them.
What associations, metaphors, feelings it brings for them?
Do they intend to obtain access to the network within the coming year?
What kind of services they would use if they were on-line?
What kind of information/ content they would look for?
What prevents or discourages them from using the net?
If they believe that certain information should not be published on the Internet?
What are the three most critical issues facing the Internet?
