PSYCHOLOGY OF CYBERSPACE

    gender differences

Gender differences are questionable since we don't know who really is male or female. I could be a man, and who would know? Well, my husband, I hope... What I have seen is that men and women do get treated differently in some chat rooms. I've known people who have switched genders online just to see what would happen. Going in a personals chat with a man's name got one or two responses from ladies, but going into that same chat room with a woman's name got that individual bombarded by messages from men. I agree with TWB, that women are offered help more often than men are. I noticed that both women and men seemed more willing to help a woman in need, than a man.- Stereotypes at work again??
