PSYCHOLOGY OF CYBERSPACE

    Internet as Collective Unconscious

I wonder if any thought has been given to the possibility that the internet represents technology's attempt to replicate the collective unconscious. This line of thought has intrigued me for quite some time, although I admit I don't have the academic credentials, or the time to do the research, to follow up on it. It seems to me that as we continue to evolve (and it does seem technology has stepped up the evolutionary pace), there will be an increased pressure to communicate in ways that go beyond verbal and printed text. It seems to me that one method by which we have historically done this is by "interacting" with the collective soul. How many decisions have we come to not based on facts, but because they "feel" right? I'd be interested in "hearing" other's thoughts on this.
