PSYCHOLOGY OF CYBERSPACE

Fame does bring a price, so I think you're right, Wanda. Jennifer is taking a chance. It is amazing, though, that one doesn't have to be a movie or rock star to gain fame. With the internet, anyone can do it - if they have a new or good idea.

I think part of JenniCam's ironic appeal is that Jennifer is just being herself and making herself available to whoever is interested. In the posts written by her fans, they feel that they know her and have a relationship with her. One person said that he stays connected to her site all day while he does his work. He feels that she is "with" him, keeping him company... Jennifer also has said that she likes offering an ongoing look into her life as a way for some males to feel like they have a girlfriend.

    Very interesting.
