I am simply amazed that you suggest some mysterious source in childhood for aggression, hostility and violence. The reasoning behind the aggression, hostility and violence of fanatics is a complicated issue, too complicated to cite some mysterious source in childhood. The concepts of 'fatwah' and 'jihad' (for example) originate in the Qu'ran, the holy book of Islam. These ideas are subtle and theological . . . and I can hardly believe theology plays such an important role during the period of childhood Adler cited as that during which lifestyle develops. These iades can be helpful to understand cause and effect from an Islamic world view (weltanschauung) . . . or, in the case of Osama bin Laden and his followers, these ideas can be bastardized and misappropriated. I hope you might provide some specific examples and/or information to support your theory of the mysterious source in childhood. Sincerely, Jay H
