I am an elementary school teacher and I have read with great interest a recent news story in my local newspaper. It seems that an area private school has recently come under attack for using questionable disciplinary sanctions based on "Alderian Psychotherapy". Here is the story: Two 13 year old girls were caught bringing alcohol to school and in fact also slipped it in another unsuspecting peer's drink. The school punished the two girls by having them drag 18 kilogram tires with their gloved hands around a running track at the school during regular school hours. They dragged the tires for a total of five hours, for two days.
I became very interested in the story, and would like to know what you think, and whether or not this punishment can in fact be related somehow to alderian theory. Please send a response to my email address as well as on your website. My email address is ms_barr@hotmail.com.
Thank you,
Matt
