Hi Craig: First, I would like to thank you for sharing such personal information. Second: I wonder if your clients feel a need to have someone with whom they can talk and in whom they can place their trust. They may have nobody else to whom they can speak freely and in whom they can trust wholly. Talking to you may have nothing whatsoever to do with your Adlerian approach. They may view talking to you as satisfying their immediate need to talk about themselves and their "issues" (read: problems). If they discover a solution, great; if they don't, at least they've been able to get disturbing ideas off their chests. What are your thoughts? Sincerely . . . Jay H
