An interesting review of what therapists thought was
effective and contrast with what patients thought was
effective in group therapy ia available in Irvin Yalom's
The theory and practice of group psychotherapy. Many
introductory counseling books address this issue, but there are few outcome studies that specifically look at
the patients point of view of effective treatment.
