Aggression is often (but not always) a mistaken form of compensation for a feeling of inferiority. Instead of improving oneself, or the situation, the individual merely attempts to intimidate or harm another person for a subjective feeling of power. Depreciation and violence are often means of trying to force a fictional feeling of superiority and dominance within a situation, where one feels painfully inferior or humiliated. There are Adlerian parent education programs (like STEP) that promote the development of encouragement, mutual respect, and the use of logical consequences in family life. These child guidance principles, if applied with the right attitude and feeling, can stimulate the social interest (feeling of community) in a child. I am not sure that a specific "social interest improvement program" for children exists. Some Adlerian-oriented preschools may attempt to foster this quality through their teachers.
