A Question Regarding Trauma

I have heard that there is a classical Adlerian source that references the notion that a person who experiences trauma has, out of conscious awareness, somehow set up the situation to allow it to occur (e.g., a woman being raped). Apart from issues of political correctness which may be raised in even suggesting that this is the case, is there any truth to it in Adlerian theory? Is there a source or reference which actually suggests this?
