I remember, from my own history, that some of the depth of Adler escaped me for several years. I assumed I knew the meaning of some of the basic terminology. Yet, what i have come to love over the years, is the depth I find in Adler's teachings. I find that the books and articles I have by Adler and by those who best present his teachings, are ones which I can read and re-read. Always finding new nuiances and deeper meaning as my understanding of the man and his teachings grow.
Even certain little phrases seem to gain more meaning over time. Some are clearly Adlerian terms, some are more common place, yet take on a richer meaning when used by students of Adler.
As my life experiences and skills as a counselor grow, it seems that even more is found in the texts I have studied before. I am curreently using my third copy of "What Life Should Mean to You".
