B.J.,
There is no book that "details" the use of encouragement, and I suspect that it would be difficult to write one effectively without presenting an abundance of case illustrations. Almost all therapies provide some degree of general encouragement. What makes the Classical Adlerian approach different is the uniqueness, intensity, and precision of encouragement offered to each individual. When the therapist fully understands the inferiority feeling, style of life, and goal of an individual, the direction and style of encouragement can be formulated precisely and offered very creatively. Each client needs a different form of encouragement.
