Yes, I agree to with your first comment. As to energy.. Qi, or alternatively Chi [in Chinese], Ki [in Japanese] is sometimes called 'life energy' in English. It is according to to Chinese philospohy the stuff that keeps the human body running. It is this flow that Acupoints are used to modify. It is the stuff that keeps the universe operating too. The sun sends out Yang Qi at dawn so many Chinese people go out early to greet the sun & collect some of that life giving force while they exercise. In Yoga there is a routine called 'salute to the sun' that serious people do at dawn. Qi, just like electricity has positive & negative poles. The acupuncturist traditionally rotates needles to wind up or down to increase or decrease the flow as having insufficent or excess in a particular area may be harmful. If you don't bother to warm up before playing a sport you are more likely to injure yourself. If you play without focus you will become a liablilty to the team & feel bad about it afterwards & so you may suffer physically & emotionally.
People who learn a meditation system incorrectly or are lax in their practise may get adverse results. Beginners especially should be carefully monitored. It's just like learning anything.
