About a year ago I was doing some work at a treatment center and one of the therapist there used mandalas in his work. The form of mandala work he used was not a free drawing sort. I recall he gave each of the girls 3 color crayons of yellow red and blue I think it was. Then he had them do a circle, square and another shape (the shape has since escaped me). They placed one shape in any of the 3 colors per mandala. He then collected thouse and had them draw a different emotion in each blank mandala circle. He then took each drawing and met after a period of time with each of the group members and talked about what the meaning behind the mandalas could mean and he and the pt talked about what fit and what did not in his therory. So the point of this post is that I have been searching high and low online as well as other places to learn more about this form of therapy. I have seen many of websites about free drawing mandalas etc but I have not been able to find anything at all about this style of mandala therapy. I recall that I had asked him where he had learned it and he informed me he went to a 2 week lecture on the giving and reading of these types of mandalas. I was wondering if anyone out there has any idea where I could find this information online or in some book? I have tried to contact the therapist who I was shadowing but have had no luck as he has since moved. Any help would be great!!
