My name is Darrell , I live in Ohio and teach meditation here, primarliy to people like myself that are survivors of abuses. It wasn't planned that way ~ it just worked out to be so.
My primary self care has always been spirituality with a meditative base, had I not begun to meditate in the seventies and continued the practice- I would not be here to write this. Throughout the decades I have had therapies of one kind or another, 12step CODA, and various drug therapies as well. I quickly weened myself from drug therapy, and found that neditation was greatly helpful in processing the sessions and the imformation obtained in them, so that I could move on more quickly. I then went on to study other meditation styles, Zen, Tai~ Chi, and various other practices, but not to " fix " myself, but to
continue on the road to excellence. At fifty I have incorporated the eastern practices and the western therapies into a working program of life. One is not better than the other, but application begins in the blending, adn if it is not serving us daily in our everyday lives- then we are fooling ourselves, and have hidden a desire to stay wounded and wallow in its perks.
Hope this helps.
