Meditation is a practice that calms and above all tames the human mind. The average human mind is untamed and by that I mean that it "runs wild". It is the creator of our confusions, our delussions, our anxiety and our overall attitude towards life itself. Through proper meditation, an individual can achieve the inner peace and calmness of the mind necesary to face life's adversities. Meditation should be seen as a lifelong practice. It can do wonders for person's life. It can change it dramatically. Combined with orthodox psycotherapy, meditation can be of great value as well.
