    I think that both active meditation (yoga/tai chi) and quiet sitting styles are useful for bipolar disorder - especially in helping stay more even-keel. (Jerry Seinfeld is a Zen Meditator, for example). And it should help them notice when they are moving out of regular affective bounds, and give them an alternative.

    I would NOT however attempt to replace anti-convulsants with meditation, but instead use it as an adjunct.
