Trazedone is a tricyclic, and as such can have many side effects. In fact, the drowziness it causes (and prescribed for) is in fact a "side effect" since it is a histomine reaction beyond the usual tricyclic neurotransmitter stimulation.
I suggest you discuss your concerns with a psychiatrist whose training and role is to understand everything that can be known about this type of medictaion.
