Re:E-therapy, what do you think?

This is a new area, and one that is growing. APA estimates that this will be one of the fastest growing areas for psychologists in the coming years. As with all new areas, the ethical parameters and the standards for good practice have to be forged. They are in the process of evolving right now. There are ways to find out if someone offering on-line services is credible (state licensure, background of experience working in the online environment, etc, etc.). It is not so cut-and-dried as one poster asserted about cross-state services. As with any therapy services, the client should shop around and check out the credentials, credibility, and expertise of the person offering services.
