Of late, I've had to admit to myself that I really am HMOphobic.

I find the intrusion of managed care into the therapeutic relationship particularly disruptive in my gestalt practice. Figures of internal process become obscured by figures of finance - that is the intent of such networks, I believe.

Two dear collegues have recently begun refusing insurance of any kind. A frightening prospect for me, but an approach for which I have great respect; I'm entertaining the idea myself.
