I don't have much to say at this juncture. I've been out offical work for two months now, but I stay busy. I am writing empowering workbooks for prisoners, addicts, teenagers, and couples. I'm lost, but I and grateful that I know I am lost, and for my meager Gestalt training. I was slapped in the face with something I already knew while reading Awareness Dialogue & Process by Gary Yontef. On page 187 he seaks about change. That we must be present, "...change is thought to occur first by clearly knowing and accepting the given: who you are and how you are. Our only goal is learning and using this process." Then on page 188 he elaborates more from The Paradoxical Theory of Change, by Beisser, 1970). I am attempting to capture these basic elements on paper in a process (in the form of a workbook) so people can provide their content. If nothing else, I stay busy, get invited to speak at counselor association meetings once in a while, and I learn more from what emerges for me on a daily basis. bobbock@abts.net
