Criterion for Gestalt Therapy

Timothy McNamara raises an important question. "How is Gestalt therapy defined." Clearly, criterion to determine that which is and that which is not integral to Gestalt therapy theory are essential.

Although the "instant" nature of this forum invites an immediate response, McNamara's question is one which I want to answer carefully -- with thought and consideration. Obviously, I have criteria. I prefer, however, to give careful deliberation before articulating them here. I will post my views on the subject here within the next few days. Bear with me.
