What is wrong with a man willing to make a foolish mistake with his heart? it is more impressive to my female intiutions for a man to let his guard down and allow the >real man< to show through his mechanistic defenses. After all it takes more courage in my perspective to try and attain a relationship with attachment rather than to detach from your true emotions. I also believe that true love cannot be destroyed (I know, I am romanticizing). The problem is we all fear real love because it takes commitment. And in todays modern society of convience, commitment is the most inconvient value in our inherent lifestlyes. We devalue the personal intimacy in a relationship to the point we end up gratifying ourselves by fly-by night mechanistic respones; And this in turn increases our fear which leads to a lack of trust or real intimacy and commitment between couples, And this my dear Todd is pathological behavior. So, on my view of the situation if Carey is a young man of character he will follow his heart in spite of his intellect. Plus, if the young lady in question can see through Carey's surly attempts of mental dominance she might discover a heart of gold, that is if Carey will allow himself to be a little foolish.
