Flocking Athiests & Application of Evolution to Deism
    James Brody · 05/07/04 at 7:46 ET

    Liz,

    Welcome!

"...it seems that those individuals who dabble in, or embrace atheism, tend to preach more than the fundamentalists. The only difference is that they are angrier. Is this also not an adaptation in the need for survival"

Both fundamentalists and athiests preach...my comfort lies in the hypothesis that most (but not all) of us flock but the color of our feathers varies.

Check citations to evo-devo and the notion that very old systems remain fairly uniform but acquire lots of add-ons and applets that fit a particular niche.
