Mail Richard a Feather?
Thanks for your posting and your good wishes.
My mind was bent by genetics (a touch of mania) such that I have to invent my own boundaries, and by a liberal education, that values are important. They kindle persistence as well as negotiation and defiance. As TSEliot stated, "..the awful daring of a moment's surrender which an age of prudence can never retract, by this and this only we have existed."
Incidentally, did Dawkins know that you touched Jung? He really should. There was a tradition among some Plains Indians that touching a warrior from another tribe entitled you to an extra feather. There's a piece of that tradition in many of us. I collect autographs whenever I go to a conference; John Pearce seems to have met half the universe and carries rich tales about each star he visited! Sagan & Druyan describe chimps who appear soothed by touching the alpha.
Come by again,
Jim
