    Although the Socratic method has its roots in philosophical discourse, variations of the method have been used in education, law, and psychotherapy. Classical Adlerian psychotherapy utilizes a unique form of Socratic questioning to promote cognitive change.     I invite BOL Forum participants to visit the page and then return to this Forum for discussion and questions. The Socratic style is especially suited to Adlerian theory, philosophy, and practice, but is quite adaptable to other therapeutic models.
