Looking back on the 10th annual March Workshop

Just returned from the 10th annual March Workshop in San Francisco I would like to thank Drs. Jessica Broitman, Joseph Weiss, Harold Sampson and the other members of the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group (SFPRG) for their unusual warm, open and friendly welcome they provided to all the participants of this workshop!

Participants came from the Bay area, from all over the United States and from several European countries. It was a unique opportunity to learn about the theory of the psychotherapeutic process of Joseph Weiss and to discuss the most recent findings of the empirical research of the SFPRG. Discussions were inspiring, on a high level and took place in a fruitful and encouraging atmosphere. Topics were: theoretical questions, research, technique, treatment of special groups of patients etc. Case presentations helped to understand the connection between theory and what is going on in therapy and proofed to be very interesting and helpful.

As the Californians say: Work hard - play hard! Although it was strictly forbidden by Jessica to have any kind of fun, it seems that some of the participants nevertheless managed to enjoy this intensive and hard working time very much ... It is even said that some were also exploring the exciting city of San Francisco, having lunch together at Green's, walking under the earliest cherry blossoms of the Japanese Garden in the Golden Gate Park - not to forget the generous invitation to a wonderful party which took place at the Weiss residence and brought together all participants and instructors of the workshop.
