Knowledge Management

I've been asked to look into the exciting and opportunity-filled field of Knowledge Management.

As far as I have gathered, the idea is that an organization's knowledge can and/or should be looked upon as yet another structural asset, and that is should be cultivated and if possible reckoned as part of the valuables of the organization.

Does anybody here know who's the major names and titles on this subject?
