From the tone of your concerns, I wonder if you are more resistant than your clients? I know that such a hesitation can stem from a sense of "holiness" regarding meditation. I know that for many years, this was my attitude - I became offended when anyone taught or did meditation casually. It took me some time before I was able to appreciate that people will get out of it what they put into it. Our role, as I see it, is not to limit the potential patients can get from the meditation. Rather, by introducing methods at the level they can begin to benefit from, and then encouraging deeper practice as they begin to notice its value, we can truly serve a population that initially uses these practices first for reducing pathology, and subsequently for continued growth - possibly even enlightnement!
